Updated: Apr 25

ree

The Pertini STEP program is an acronym that unites four key areas, forming important pillars of healthy child development:

S – Science

T – Technology

E – Education

P – Play

It was created by the PERTINI CENTER FOR HEALTHY CHILD DEVELOPMENT and Pertini Innovation Center New York, as a strong foundation for encouraging knowledge, curiosity, and the overall development of children.

CORE ELEMENTS OF THE STEP PROGRAM

Science

Nurturing curiosity and a spirit of exploration, STEP encourages children to ask questions, experiment, and think critically about the world around them.

Technology

By building digital literacy and promoting healthy tech habits, children explore the digital world in ways that help them thrive in today’s fast-changing society.

Education

Through innovative educational approaches, kids gain a better understanding of how the world works, become more open-minded, and develop a deeper awareness of the society they live in.

Play

By promoting active, hands-on play, the program shifts children from passive screen time to meaningful interaction—enhancing their attention span, focus, and imagination through engagement rather than automatic responses to digital stimuli.

THE GOAL OF THE PERTINI STEP PROGRAM

The Pertini STEP Program aims to connect children from around the world through a shared educational STEP platform—offering equal opportunities for learning, regardless of where they come from.

It uses STEP educational materials as teaching tools, and includes training for educators through a specialized certification program, enabling them to become STEP-certified facilitators.

The program is based on educational methods outlined in the book “The Planet of Talents” by Dr. Aleksandar Ignjatović Pertini, a Harvard-trained expert in child psychology.

PERTINI STEP GAME EDITION

The Pertini STEP Edition features a series of educational and developmental games designed by experts in child psychology and education at the PERTINI CENTER FOR HEALTHY CHILD DEVELOPMENT. The collection includes eight interactive games, each focused on developing a different set of core skills: social intelligence, empathy, creativity, curiosity, and scientific thinking. Blending traditional and digital elements, the games use technology as a tool—not a replacement for real-life experiences, but a guide toward a healthy balance between the physical and digital worlds.
